October 2008 Update

A lot has been going on around here. I've been hard at work on building my GUI toolkit in SDL, and if you've been following my blog then you'll know it sounds like I'm getting close to being done.

I'm planning on taking some screenshots of my progress for this weekend or maybe early next week. It really depends on how far I get before the weekend. And once that is done, I'm going to dive head first into programming our first major project. Stay tuned for those details!

As for October, we've dug around in our archives and found some neat mods we've made to commercial games of old. If you still play these games (we obviously do) then check out these levels:

  • DOOM Levels - including Dave and Paul's near infamous Balls To The Wall conversion. Also included are three levels Jamie did over the years
  • Rainbow 6 mods - Paul modified the missions in Rainbow 6, Eagle Watch, and Rogue Spear so you can go loud and proud on the tangos in any level (M-60 not included)
  • Unreal Tournament level - Jamie made one level for UT, a claustrophobic's nightmare dubbed "Grim's Mine"
